Working Holiday Visas
1 – Working Holiday Visa (Subclass 417)
This visa allows young people aged between 18 to 30 (or 35) to work and holiday in Australia for up to a year.
Criteria for the grant of the visa:
- Need to be at least 18 years old and not yet 30, except for Canadian, French and Irish citizens up to 35 (inclusive)
- Need to hold a passport from one of the following countries:
- Belgium
- Canada
- Republic of Cyprus
- Denmark
- Estonia
- Finland
- France
- Germany
- Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China (including British National Overseas passport holders)
- Republic of Ireland
- Italy
- Japan
- Republic of Korea
- Malta
- Netherlands
- Norway
- Sweden
- Taiwan
- United Kingdom.
Please note that in certain circumstances when a subclass 417 visa holder has carried out at least three months of ‘’specified work’’ in regional Australia he/she may eligible for a second working holiday visa.
2 – Work and Holiday Visa (Subclass 462)
This visa allows young people aged between 18 to 30 to work and holiday in Australia for up to a year.
Criteria for the grant of the visa:
- Need to be at least 18 years old and not yet 30.
- Need to hold a passport from one of the following countries:
- Argentina
- Bangladesh
- Chile
- China, People’s Republic of
- Hungary
- Indonesia
- Israel
- Luxembourg
- Malaysia
- Poland
- Portugal
- San Marino
- Singapore
- Slovak Republic
- Slovenia
- Spain
- Thailand
- Turkey
- USA
- Uruguay
- Vietnam
