1 – Working Holiday Visa (Subclass 417)

This visa allows young people aged between 18 to 35 to work and holiday in Australia for up to a year.

Criteria for the grant of the visa:

  • Need to be at least 18 years old and not yet 35.
  • Need to hold a passport from one of the following countries:
  1. Belgium
  2. Canada
  3. Republic of Cyprus
  4. Denmark
  5. Estonia
  6. Finland
  7. France
  8. Germany
  9. Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China (including British National Overseas passport holders)
  10. Republic of Ireland
  11. Italy
  12. Japan
  13. Republic of Korea
  14. Malta
  15. Netherlands
  16. Norway
  17. Sweden
  18. Taiwan
  19. United Kingdom.

Please note that in certain circumstances when a subclass 417 visa holder has carried out at least three months of ‘’specified work’’ in regional Australia he/she may eligible for a second working holiday visa.

2 – Work and Holiday Visa (Subclass 462)

This visa allows young people aged between 18 to 35 to work and holiday in Australia for up to a year.

Criteria for the grant of the visa:

  • Need to be at least 18 years old and not yet 35.
  • Need to hold a passport from one of the following countries:
  1. Argentina
  2. Bangladesh
  3. Chile
  4. China, People’s Republic of
  5. Hungary
  6. Indonesia
  7. Israel
  8. Luxembourg
  9. Malaysia
  10. Poland
  11. Portugal
  12. San Marino
  13. Singapore
  14. Slovak Republic
  15. Slovenia
  16. Spain
  17. Thailand
  18. Turkey
  19. USA
  20. Uruguay
  21. Vietnam
